A New Christus Hospital Coming To The Area

Atlanta Memorial Hospital is about to change.As of January 1, 2013 the hospital will begin providing health services as Christus St. Michael Hospital-Atlanta. An agreement has been signed, which entails a 10 year lease of the Atlanta Memorial Hospital by the Christus St. Michael Health System.

Bobby Wright, Chairperson of the Atlanta Memorial Hospital Board said, ” We beleive that an agreement with Christus St. Michael will offer our hospital new opportunities for growth and success and will ensure a strong healthcare presence in Atlanta for many years to come.”

A little background on Christus St. Michale Health System, a Catholic , faith-based health system that was established back in 1916 by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word as the MichaeL Meagher  Memorial Hospital. Today they serve residents from Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana..
