I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like you’re going to have to throw your computer out the window. I’m sorry, but there’s simply no other plausible reaction to the following news. Adam Sandler isn’t just releasing two more movies on Netflix, he’s releasing six.

Remember back in 2014 – ah, sunny 2014, when life didn’t feel like a constant daily nightmare – when Netflix made a four-picture deal with Sandler? First they released his western-comedy The Ridiculous Six, and audiences responded by making it the most streamed Netflix movie in history. Then they released The Do-Over, a 100-minute Budweiser commercial that is “borderline unwatchable,” as our own Matt Singer described it. Next up is that atrocious-looking ‘90s rom-com Sandy Wexler. But best of all, that third film promised that we were more than half-way through the four-picture nightmare. SO. CLOSE. TO. FREEDOM.

Sorry, but Netflix knows you like hate-watching Adam Sandler movies, so they extended their initial deal for more mind-numbing entertainment (punishment?). According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix has inked a second four-picture deal with Sandler. But that’s okay, because there’s a message here America, and that message is, you get the crappy movies you deserve. We did this to ourselves. We made The Ridiculous Six and The Do-Over Netflix’s biggest releases of all time. Don’t want more Sandler garbage? Go stream something else – anything else! Hey, here’s five non-Sandler recommendations for what to stream this weekend. Do it for your brain. Do it for your country.
