Residents Vote On Alcohol Sales In Nash Texas
The residents of Nash,Texas approved two propositions in regard to alcohol consumption.
According to an interview with Chuck Lucas, City Economic Development Director of Nash by KTAL News 6, ”Proposition 1 is for the sale of beer and wine for off premises consumption; that means, there’ll be no bars, no liquor stores, but there’ll be beer and wine sales in convenience stores. Proposition 2 would allow mixed beverage sales in restaurants.”
The city’s sales tax revenue would increase to an estimated $400,000 yearly when the propositions pass. Lucas says that businesses selling alcohol would be subject to specific zoning laws and be primarily along Kings Highway and New Boston Road.
