As I walked through the animal shelter one day I spotted this employee taking a few minutes out of her busy day to give some attention to the dogs.

Can you imagine working at the shelter? So many dogs come and go. Some find new homes while others are euthanized because no one adopts them. How hard it must be to not be able to save them all!

These dogs crave attention and on this day they were able to get a little extra special attention from a caring shelter employee. Thank you!

If you'd like to volunteer to help the staff and animals at the Animal Care and Adoption Center of the City of Texarkana, your assistance is always welcome. Volunteers may walk dogs, wash laundry, clean dog bowls, mop floors, and more depending on the needs of the day.

To help, simply stop by the shelter located at 203 Harrison St., Texarkana, Ark. 71854 or call (870) 773-6388. Volunteers must be 18 or older or accompanied by a parent if younger than 18. The staff asks that you bring a driver license or state issued ID when you first arrive to help.
