This young girl donates many, many hours of her time to the dogs at the animal shelter and works hard to help find new homes for loving pets. At just 15 years of age, she understands the meaning of giving back to her community.

Alana and her grandfather, Randall Knotts, can often be found at the Animal Care and Adoption Center taking different dogs out to the exercise area to romp and play. Alana works with the dogs and can tell you a lot about their character and habits.

This dog was named Lara. She was on 'The List' to be put to sleep because she had been at the shelter for so long and no one adopted her. Alana and her grandfather worked hard to find a new home for Lara, even offering to help out with the vetting expenses. It was a success! Lara is now in a new home and their efforts are now directed to another dog that is in need of find a home soon.

Thank you for all that you do Alana!
