Anita Baker was at the center of a Twitter rant from her former friend, fellow soul singer Cheryl Lynn, on Thursday (May 28). The Grammy Award-winning singer took the high road and responded without addressing Lynn by name and offered a spiritual reply.

In a series of anti-climatic and somewhat cryptic tweets, Baker embraced her spirituality and refused to partake in anything beef-related. “Manufacturing/Creating Conflict where there is none... #21stCenturyPublicity ABXO,” she wrote. “Conflict Based Media feeds its Blogs Perpetuate & Distort it & Thrive on the creation of Chaos & Negativity.”

"We see it for what it is... We understand. "We battlle not against flesh...," she continued. "I'm not looking for publicity.... HE knows my name & my heart. this is all that truly matters."

In response, Lynn simply tweeted a Kanye West line. See the tweet below.

We don't know what the "Encore" singer is trying to say, other than suggesting that she's a better singer than Baker. Nevertheless, this will probably go down as the quickest Twitter beef that happened but never really happened.

In the end, the Twitter feud Lynn started is so unbecoming.
