What really horrified me is the fact that there is such a thing as a $250 basketball shoe.

Really, are you kidding me? Who is going to wear squeaky shoes and pay $250 for them. For that kind of money, they better be making the baskets for me.

One nightmare that every industry faces is trying to stay relevant, therefor from time to time they must re-invent the wheel, or in this case the shoe, to stay at the top of the pile. If you don't, someone is going to knock you off eventually.

In walks Nike's Lunar Hyperdunk basketball shoes which actually have sensors that tell you how good your basketball workout is, how high you can jump, what you ate for breakfast... ok, I made that last one up but holy molly batman, where does the technology end?

They have a removable microchip that hooks up to your smart phone and gives you all kinds of information about your game, or lack thereof.
