I love flying. I love air shows. I love warbirds, past and present. Therefore, you might imagine that one of my favorite things to do is head over to the Barksdale Air Force Base airshow whenever I can make it. This year, I made it.

I try not to shoot my mouth off too often during videos that need no commentary, but in this one the announcer said something about a high speed 360 degree turn showing off the turning radius of this magnificent fighter, the F-16, then I noticed just how fast he was about to enter that turn and I could contain my excitement no longer.

You get me around some airplanes and the smell of jet fuel and I start to SQUEE like a little girl. Just ask my friends and family, they'll tell you.

I know this one is over for another year, but if you ever get a chance to head south and check out the Wings Over Houston Airshow, do it. The Houston show features a huge fly in of WWII era warbirds of the Commemorative Air Force and their explosive "Tora, Tora, Tora!" show. You get a small sense of what it must have been like to be there during the attack on Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941. The 2016 show will feature the Navy's Blue Angels as well. Unlike the Barksdale show the Wings Over Houston show is not free, but it is a much grander scale show. Many more planes to see and acts to follow. The 2016 show is scheduled for October 22 & 23, you can learn more here, WingsOverHouston.com.

As we close out Barksdale for another year remember to like them on Facebook so you can make it to the show next year.
