DJango is our featured pet of the week from the animal shelter in Texarkana. He is a young, mixed breed pup that would make a great family pet. He likes to romp and play. He is a fun-loving boy.
Spike is a happy go lucky dog. When he first arrived at the shelter he didn't know much about love and people. He had spent his entire life on a chain and used as a breeding dog. Now he has a bed and shelter. He loves watching people walk by and lights up when they stop to talk to him. His adoption fee is $40.
Zinger is a young, brindle Dachshund mix. He is absolutely adorable. The marble type coloring is very unique. He loves being with people and gets along fantastic with other dogs. He would make a great family dog and you have enough time to get him ready for a surprise for the kiddos on Christmas.
Jaggar was a house dog for the first two years of his life before landing at the shelter. He loves affection and cuddling is one of his favorite things to do. The way his tail curls up and he bounces around makes him look like an adorable tiny deer. Jaggar is sponsored so his adoption fee is only $40.00.
Obo is an 11 month old Terrier-Pitt mix that has been on the adoption floor for some time now. He is very energetic and has an outgoing personality. Obo loves to be petted and presses his head into your hand when you reach through the kennel fence. His personality is sweet with people and the boss with dogs. Texarkana Animal League is hosting its ninth annual Unleashed Party to distribute the 2016 day planners as well as raise funds for their many programs to help our local homeless animals. A fun evening of silent auctions and entertainment are in store for all who attend on Thursday, Oct. 29.
This week's featured pet is an adult shepherd mix from the shelter. He is already neutered, which means the adoption fee is less than $60. Sarge is good on a leash and loves affection. He is a great guard dog and no one will arrive at your home without him letting you know that you have company. His bark is scary but he is a sweetheart.
Because rain and stormy weather are expected this weekend, Oktoberfest has been rescheduled. The event is now set for 10AM on Saturday, November 14, at Front Street Plaza in downtown Texarkana.
