Dutch oven cooking is some of the best cooking you may ever do, that is if you know how to do it. It's really not hard and this Saturday you have a chance to come out and see how it's done in Maud, Texas.

The Dutch Oven Group will be demonstrating dutch oven cooking during the Knife Show at Alamo Supply on Saturday from 10AM to 1PM.

There will also be Cajun fryer cooking demonstration, covered wagon rides for the kids, hot dogs and sodas. Also, be sure you get a raffle ticket to try and win a Ruger 10/22 Takedown Rifle, a Yeti 20 Qt Hopper or a $100 gift certificate for case knives. All proceeds from the raffle benefit the Maud Beautification Group.

Alamo Supply store hours are 9AM - 4PM on Saturday and it's located at Hwy 67 at Hwy 8. Google Maps

The Dutch Oven Group meets usually on the last Saturday of each month at the Boy Scout Hut in front of Sacred Heart Catholic Church just off Texas Boulevard.

Dutch Oven cooking is considered more of an art form than a necessity these days. Sure, it's easier to cook most things on your stovetop or in your oven or microwave, but this is more than just cooking a meal. It's keeping alive a tradition, learning a new skill for many of us, and it's fun.
