Cindy Marsh, Stefanie Brazile, Debra Moore, Tom Moore[/caption]I learned at a press conference today that Hospice of Texarkana has announced a brand new format for its sixth annual Jeans & Bling fundraising event Oct. 10, 2015. For the first time, the nonprofit  will host stars from the hit ABC TV show "Dancing With The Stars." The agency is bringing Jonathan Roberts and a dance partner, who has also performed on the prime-time show, to the Texarkana Convention Center. The talented couple will perform dances, interact with the audience and spend time with VIP guests.

Jonathan Roberts is an award winning Ballroom, American Smooth and Latin Dance champion of 15 years and was a finalist on "Dancing With The Stars" with singer Marie Osmond. He was featured on seven seasons of ABC's hit show with notable celebrities including Heather Mills, Belinda Carlisle, Rachel Hunter, Macy Gray and Monica Seals.

Roberts is a masterful dance teacher and skilled choreographer for "So You Think You Can Dance," Olympic athletes and Hollywood celebrities. He owns the "You Can Dance Studio in Los Angeles, Cali.

Jeans & Bling is Hospice of Texarkana's signature fundraising event that has raised $247,000 in five years. All proceeds are designated for the Hospice Inpatient Care Center, which is under construction in Texarkana.

Guests at the fundraiser will enjoy the popular band "Split Decision" and will get to see a new competition called "Icing With The Stars" in which top bakers from popular area businesses will be paired with a local celebrity to decorate a cake at the event. Guests will enjoy watching the professional and novice create a unique design in a two-hour window of time. The audience will vote for their favorite cake design and the cake will be auctioned. The businesses participating include: All in Good Taste Bakery, Julie's, Silver Spoon, Taste and See, and Twisted Fork Grill & Bar.

The star-studded evening will also feature a silent auction, and raffle of several prizes worth thousands of dollars. Tickets will be $75 each and will be available at the Hospice website.

This year marks the agency's 30th of continuous nonprofit service. Last September, the agency broke ground on a freestanding, 12-bed, hospice Inpatient Care Center that is the first of its kind within 70 miles. The $5.5 million facility will be complete in 2016 and is located at 2407 Galleria Oaks Drive in Texarkana, Texas. When finished, the homelike building will feature private terraces, a chapel, grief counseling rooms, a family room, cafe, a small laundry room and shower.
