Alan Funt got the ball rolling with the famous phrase "smile, you're on Candid Camera".

It all started as a radio show in 1947, and lasted in one form or another for over 60 years. Sadly Alan passed away in 1999 at the age of 84. Funt's son Peter has kept the franchise alive over the years with some success, but the new kid on the block is 'Just For Laughs Gags' produced in Canada since 2000, by real Canadians.

The gags are funny and usually very well staged, the thing that sets this show apart from 'Candid Camera' is there's no talking. None, oh the people talk to each other in the gags obviously, but you the viewers, do not get to hear any of the conversation. The brilliance of this is that the show can play anywhere, it doesn't matter what language you speak, the show doesn't have to be re-voiced every time it's syndicated to another country. The gags hold up on there own, no explanation is necessary.

You can watch whole episodes through their website, or simply subscribe to their YouTube Channel like I did.

Fun stuff!
