A public information meeting is planned  to discuss the "Draft Lower Little River Watershed Management Plan" in Southwest Arkansas. The meeting will be held in Ashdown by the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission (ANRC) to discuss the plan associated with voluntary efforts to reduce non point source pollution. Farmers and other watershed landowners, county and municipal officials, community leaders, and representatives of groups and agencies interested in the watershed are encouraged to attend.

The meeting will be December 9, at UA Cossatot, Millwood Room (321), 1411 N. Constitution Ave. It begins at 10AM. and concludes at noon.
The development of the working draft plan began about nine months ago, and public meetings have been held in the watershed during the process. ANRC is developing a voluntary watershed-based management plan, with the assistance of watershed stakeholders, that is designed to help reduce non point source pollution.
The purpose of the plan is to provide a framework for landowners, communities, and qualifying organizations that want to voluntarily participate in the watershed management program and undertake projects. The watershed plan is scheduled to be completed in January.
