New legislation in Arizona allows the state’s Department of Corrections to impose a one-time “background check fee” of $25 on adults wishing to visit inmates at any of its 15 facilities.
Needless to say, families and prisoner advocacy groups are not happy, citing the existing costs of traveling to visit loved ones housed in prisons that are often located in remote areas.

He’s been talking about retiring from ‘Live! With Regis and Kelly’ for months, and now television stalwart Regis Philbin has announced his final show will be on Friday, November 18.
The show, which started in 1983 as a local New York City program called ‘The Morning Show,’ went national with co-host Kathie Lee Gifford in 1988. Actress Kelly Ripa stepped in as Gifford’s replacement after she left the show in 2000.

It should be comfortable and easy to spend time at home. In years past, the Academy has experimented with different hosting ideas, culminating in the somewhat questionable move this year that saw actors James Franco and Anne Hathaway emceeing what many called a disastrous show.
