I recently took in a fantastic concert experience in Grand Prairie, TX at the Verizon Theater. My wife, youngest son and I all went to see 'Queen Extravaganza,' an amazing tribute band put together by Queen drummer Roger Taylor. By the way, look for a review of the show by my wife soon. It was great!

The Verizon Theater is a wonderful venue, clean, well laid out, easy to find, plenty of bathrooms, blah, blah...

I have a gripe though about a trend that seems to be getting way out of hand in my humble opinion, parking fees. This has gone from an annoyance to downright highway robbery. The general admission parking for this event was $15. A lady I talked to at the show said she had attended a comedian's show recently at the same venue and the parking for that one was $20! $20? Really? For what? The privilege of parking on this property. Then you go up and buy a ticket and they charge a fee for that, then the concession prices, oh my God, don't get me started there.

Then I talked to another person that told me the parking fees to see a Cowboy game are $60, are you kidding me! I know Jerry has a bazillion dollar stadium that looks like the mother ship to pay for but come on!

What kills me is the predicament you're in, if you want to see the show or the game or whatever, you're kinda stuck paying the fees unless you want to take a cab or limo, or your mom drops you off.

They really have your berries over a juicer if you know what I mean.

I don't know what the answer is, stop going to see entertainment that you really want to see? Nah, not yet. I just wanted to gripe about it. They will reach a point where the extra fees involved are too much, that point has already been reached by me in a lot of instances.

Tell us how you feel.
