Suspect Arrested For Assaulting a Texarkana Police Officer

Texarkana, Texas, Police say a New Boston, Texas, man is facing charges after allegedly assaulting a police officer.

Texarkana, Texas, Police responded to a shoplifter in-progress call at a business in the 2400 block of Richmond Road.

Officer Elane Cochran arrived on scene and observed a male subject that matched the
description of the suspect exiting the store. Officer Cochran attempted to detain the
suspect, identified as Kenneth Wilson, 31, of New Boston, Texas. Wilson allegedly struck Officer Cochran.

An off-duty Texarkana Ark., police officer observed the incident and
helped Officer Cochran subdue Wilson.

Wilson was arrested for Theft with two or more previous convictions, Assault on a Public
Servant and possession of marijuana. He was transported to jail.
