Animal Care and Adoption Center

There are so puppies at the shelter right now. It seems the Spring baby season is here early. There are at least 4 litters of babies with their mommas. So far only one litter is on the adoption floor—there just is not enough room for all of the animals. From small breed dogs to large breed dogs. Please take a look at these photos and see if there is a dog or cat that you could make room for in you

Heinekin is approximately one year old. A sweet boy that is afraid of his own shadow. He appears to have been beaten at some point in his life. A scared dog that needs a patient family to give him love and comfort.

Olive is a beautiful Collie mix. She loves to play with toys and could learn to fetch easily. She gently takes treats. Olive is less than 2 years old and weighs less than 30 pounds. She is possibly house trained already. Great on a leash. Olive is currently enrolled in the obedience training program at the shelter.

Max is a blonde pitt mix that is very sweet and good on a leash but he is so timid at the shelter and just wants a much quieter place to call home.

Tyson has a bubbly personality like most Boxers do. He is less than 2 years old. A beautiful brindle color. He has been at the shelter since August and would love to start the new year out in a new home.

Simone is a 1 year old husky. She is beautiful with one blue eye and one brown eye. Her coat is soft and short. She appears to have been a house dog. Simone is good on a leash. She is an affectionate dog.

Maya is a beautiful, small-sized husky mix. She loves to play. Her fur is amazingly soft. She walks pretty good on a leash. She will have to be spayed prior to adoption. Maya is approximately 2 years old.

Where will your pets be sleeping this holiday season? Chances are they will be somewhere warm and comfy, smelling the wonderful odors of a Thanksgiving dinner. The animals at the Animal Care and Adoption Center in Texarkana will not have that same type of enjoyment.

Zoey is a beautiful, young Great Pyrenees. She walks very well on a leash for being such a young dog. She loves hugs and likes to play dress up. Zoey will be a very large dog. With weekly grooming she can make a great house dog! A very sweet dog. She will have to be spayed prior to adoption.

Red is a sweet, small breed dog. He is a little timid at the shelter but will quickly warm up when he gets into a new home where there isn't so much noise and barking. Red has a great personality and a laid back attitude. Red is the favorite dog of Betty who manages the cats at the shelter. She thinks he will be a great dog for any family.

Ole Dan is a young hound mix. He is a super sweet boy that loves to play. He is smart and loves attention. He would make a great family dog or could learn to be hunting buddy.
