Connecticut school shooting

There is nothing anyone can do to take away the pain the community of Newtown, Connecticut is going through right now. But a charity group from Illinois is using man's best friend to provide a little comfort to those who are mourning the loss of life from last Friday's mass school shooting.

In an attempt to heal not only the ones directly connected to the tragedy at Newtown, CT, this past Friday, but the entire town, retired special education teacher Michael Cragin has decided to offer out hugs — not from him, but from his beloved bulldog Truman.

In the wake of the devastating shootings in Newtown, Conn. this morning, we're all left wondering why and how this act of senseless violence could possibly happen. Celebrities from across the country have been tweeting and posting Facebook updates about the shootings all morning. This is what some of them have said about today's harrowing incident.

Although Connecticut may seem far removed from Texarkana, the world at large is mourning the deaths of 27 individuals, including 18 children, after 24-year-old shooter Ryan Lanza entered Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. this morning and changed this quiet bedroom community forever.
