Texarkana Texas Police say a 13 year old juvenile is in the Juvenile Detention Center after an incident in a parking lot in the 2400 Block of Texas Boulevard yesterday morning.

An early morning assault has led to the arrest of a 13 year old teen for robbery. The incident began at approximately 9:50am in a parking lot in the 2400 block of Texas Blvd. The victim, Susan Efird, 42, of Texarkana, Texas, was inside her vehicle when a young male approached her on two separate occasions. As he approached her the second time, he pulled Efird from her vehicle, at which time Efird sprayed him with a small can of pepper spray. The suspect then struck Efird several times in the upper body with his fist. The suspect entered Efird’s vehicle in an attempt to take the vehicle, however, he could not locate the keys. The suspect then struck Efird again, before fleeing the scene on foot. The suspect was wearing blue jeans and a red “hoodie”. Efird was treated at a local health care facility for non-life threatening injuries. Approximately two hours later, officers received a call of suspicious person matching the suspect description, walking in the area of Richmond Rd. and Texas Blvd. Officers found the person in question and discovered that he was wearing a red “hoodie” that had been turned inside out. This person was also determined to be 13 years of age. Based on evidence discovered during this investigation, the juvenile was arrested for robbery. He was transported to the juvenile detention center.
