Texarkana Ark., police say they have arrested a suspect in connection with several recent robberies in the city.

On Sunday, Nov. 30, the Texarkana Ark., Police Department arrested Kentrell Thomas, B/M 19, of Texarkana, for three recent robberies that occurred on East Street.  The first robbery was reported on November 16 at the Family Dollar located at 900 East Street.

During the incident an unknown black male entered into the business while carrying a shotgun and demanded money from the employee.  A few days later, on November 21st, the METRO PCS store located in the 800 block of East Street, was robbed by an unknown  male with a shotgun.  Then on November 29, the Family Dollar was again robbed in the same manner of the previous robberies, in that an unknown male carrying the same shotgun approached the clerk and demanded money before leaving on foot.

The Texarkana Ark., Criminal Investigation Division began a vigorous investigation of these crimes in order to capture this suspect before anyone was seriously injured.  On Saturday, November 29, after receiving several phone calls with tips concerning the suspect, a search warrant was obtained and executed at a residence in Texarkana, Ark., by members of the Criminal Investigation Division, Special Operations Section and Patrol Division.  Several items of evidence were recovered from all three robberies during this process.  Thomas turned himself in to police on Sunday, November 30.

Thomas has been charged with three counts of aggravated robbery.
