The popular Bryce's Cafeteria in Texarkana is closed after failing multiple health code inspections by the City, but Bryce's says it expects to reopen today.

Customers who showed up yesterday evening were greeted by locked doors and a note from the City that read "Food Service Permit has been suspended for: Non-compliance with city ordinance 10-62, by order of the Inspection Code Division of the City of Texarkana, Texas."

The City says this was the restaurant's third failing grade in the last 10 days. The inspector cites some cleanliness, temperature, and food handling issues among the reasons for the failing grade.

Here is the full inspection report on the cafeteria:

The City said in the letter to the owner that the health and safety of citizens is our main concern for this action.

When the establishment can comply with the Texas Food Establishment Rules, the food service permit will be reinstated. (Section 20-60  of the City Code of Ordinances )

On its Facebook page, Bryce's made this statement:

Bryce's is pleased to announce that we will open at 11 this morning! After working diligently to correct issues noted in the inspection report on Wednesday and to comply with new state regulations we received a score of 89 this morning and are free to open. We want the community to know that we take food safety seriously! Bryce's will continue to provide delicious fresh food at our restaurant and that we appreciate your support."
