No threat exists at Texarkana's Texas High, according to school and law enforcement officials, following a tense day of activity in which threats defacing a bathroom wall and a school desk were allegedly found in the school.

"Based upon our investigation, we have concluded that the threat was indeed a prank and all evidence shows there is no viable, credible threat against our students and school for Wednesday, March 8, or thereafter," said Tina Veal Gooch, Director of Communications for Texas Independent School District.

"Texas High School will have increased police presence on the campus and our safety protocols will be enforced for the remainder of the week," she said in a press release at 3:15PM Tuesday.

Parents were notified of the incident and notification was also placed on the district's Facebook page.

Officials at Texas High in the Texarkana Texas Independent School District are investigating an alleged threat.

"Texarkana ISD and Texas High School are aware of a threat posed against the school, students, and staff based upon writings found in the bathroom and on a desk. We are currently investigating the situation and interviewing students who possibly have an association with this threat," said Director of Communications, Tina Veal Gooch.

But the district believes it may have pinpointed the student who made the alleged threat.

"We received a threat that it was not safe for students to go to school on Wednesday, March 8, 2017. This threat was handwritten on a bathroom wall and on a student desk.  We know which students sit in that chair for each class and are currently interviewing them. We have received a confession from a student who is the one that placed the message on Snapchat and are pretty sure this is the student who did the writing as well," Gooch said.

School is in regular session today at Texas High.

Although the district said it believes this to be a prank, they also said student safety is of the utmost importance. As the investigation continues today, the district said it will update the media with any information from their findings.
