Texas High School Dash For Cash Scholarship Fundraiser

The Texas High School Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) will host their Second Annual Dash for Cash on Saturday, Oct. 31.

Texas High School’s Dash for Cash Halloween Bash will kick off at 9AM. with the 5K run at the Texas High School track and baseball field located at 4001 Summerhill Road, Texarkana, Texas. The course winds through the Spring Lake Park area. All proceeds from the race will benefit the VIPS scholarship fund.

The Monster Mile Fun Run is at 10AM. After the races, the fun continues until noon with food booths, various vendor booths, bounce houses and Halloween games.

In addition to the 5K and Monster Mile, they will have fun and games for the entire family including food and drinks.

“It is our hope that Dash for Cash will become an annual event which will support and further the education of our Texas High School graduates,” commented Christy Paddock, Chairman. “In addition to raising scholarship funds, this event will bring the entire district together to celebrate fitness, exercise and community support. I invite everyone to come join us.”

Last year, they raised over $30,000 thanks to all of the generous sponsors and participants.

• 5K Run/Walk & 1 Mile Monster Run/Walk

5K Run starts at 9AM, Monster Mile Walk starts at 10am, Halloween Bash festival will follow the Monster Mile.

• Packet Pickup

Packet and T-shirt pickup will take place on Thursday, Oct.  29 from 11AM to 1PM and 4PM to 6PM at the TISD Administration Building, 4001 Summerhill Road, Texarkana 75503. Otherwise, race packets can be picked up the morning of the event beginning at 7:30AM.

• Awards and Age Groups

A trophy along with a prize pack from Racquet and Jog will be awarded to the top overall male and female winners. A trophy will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female finishers in each of the following age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and above.
