TxDOT To Discuss McKnight Road Widening Project

The Texas Department of Transportation is holding a pre-construction open house meeting to discuss a widening project planned for McKnight Road in Texarkana.

The open house will be Monday, April 24 from 4:30-6:30PM inside the Pleasant Grove High School Cafeteria on McKnight Road.

According to a press release, TxDOT recently accepted a contract to widen the road from RIchmond Road westward. In addition to the widening of the roadway, two drainage structures will be replaced, which will require the roadway to be closed for a couple of days for each structure. This part of the project will be planned on a weekend in order to impact local traffic less.

TxDOT encourages all interested citizens to attend this open hour and learn about and discuss the project. Transportation personnel will be available to answer any questions from those in attendance.
