Vote for Texarkana, Arkansas to win a grant for a dog park.

The PetSafe Bark for Your Park Contest has started and runs through June 14, 2012. You can vote every day!

Texarkana, Arkansas is ready for its first community dog park and shelter dog park. It will be known as “JefFURson Park,” located on the Partnership for the Pathway Trail. It’s the triangle area between the pathway, pavilion and road that runs along AHS. Areas will be sectioned off for large, medium and small dogs. There will also be an agility course. The community will be able to exercise and socialize their dogs with other dog lovers.

Crystal Sloan is helping to organize this project. She says, “We also want to create a dog park at the Animal Care and Adoption Center of Texarkana, Arkansas with a portion of the grant. Our shelter dogs desperately need a safe place to run off-leash and play with volunteers and potential owners. As of now, the shelter dogs can escape from their slip leads and run into nearby traffic when they are taken outside of the shelter. With $100,000 we can make the most of the money by serving the general public’s need for a safe off-leash dog park as well as creating a stress-free and safe environment for the community’s shelter dogs. Our animal shelter serves Miller County, Arkansas and Bowie County, Texas, so voting for Texarkana, Arkansas will benefit both sides of Stateline.”

Last year there was some confusion which caused a split of the votes between the Twin Cities. I believe this cost our community the chance to have a dog park. If we can get a dog park in Texarkana, Arkansas, it will benefit the entire community no matter which side of the line you are on.

The unique opportunity for Texarkana is the ability to also help the animal shelter with this grant. If you have ever been to or seen a shelter that has areas sectioned off for dogs to run loose, it is very helpful to potential adopters. They are able to go into a fenced area and sit with the dog to interact and see how much they would enjoy the dog if they adopted it. I get chill bumps when I think about how much of a difference this type of park could make for the animals that are stuck in the shelter waiting to be given a chance. Please help by voting daily for Texarkana, Arkansas to get a dog park.

Kelly Clarkson showed off her new, trimmer figure at the ABC and Entertainment Weekly Upfront party in New York City this week. Wearing a spring-appropriate, strapless floral frock that accentuated her toned arms and smaller waist, Clarkson, 30, looked amazing.

The ‘Stronger’ singer also chose a flattering cut to show off her shape with this pretty dress. She has not admitted to any sort of diet or exercise regimen, but it’s clear that she has shed some excess pounds and it’s most visible in her arms and hips. Looking god, Kel!

She’s also growing out her formerly blunt bangs, it seems. It’s a move which flatters her face shape, since it’s a less severe style.

According to AOL Music, the singer and original ‘American Idol‘ was in town to promote her new reality show ‘Duets,’ which teams aspiring singers with established stars. The new show premieres on May 24. Clarkson loves her reality competitions, as she also mentored on the second season of ‘The Voice.’ She has spread her wings beyond the show that made her famous, and she has often maintained that she just wants to sing, as opposed to being a pop star.

Luiz Meneghin, a 54-year old nurse for the elderly, did the near-impossible last night (May 15) on ‘America’s Got Talent.’ He converted Howard Stern, who admitted he is “bored to tears” by opera music, to an opera fan with his beautiful, soaring rendition of ‘Nessun dorma.’

Meneghin said his patients support him, and told him to “go for it” on ‘AGT” since he sings for them daily. Every afternoon after lunch, the patients gather in the lobby and listen to him sing for 30 minutes. In the middle of that feel good story, Stern deadpanned, “So far no casualties? Everyone doing okay?” Meneghin also said he sings to help his charges move their bowels, which would have been prime fodder for Stern to pounce on, but he didn’t. This is ‘AGT,’ not his “anything goes” radio show, and he was respectful.

Meneghin shared his back-story — he is from Brazil, but lives in Utah and his father introduced him to opera at a young age. Stern grilled him on what to expect and his accent. He really asked the right questions, like he would to a guest on his show, and was not hesitant to reveal he has “a tough time with opera.”

Well, Luiz made it an easy genre to love. While his eyes did bug out a little while he sang, he hit notes beautifully and is in line with the likes of Andrea Boccelli. When Meneghin wrapped, Stern declared, “You converted me.”

It’s worth a mention that this is the same song that Paul Potts sang on the British version of the show back in 2007, and he was a huge sensation! It’s not the song, though. It’s the singers!

With so many amazing contenders in the ‘Dancing with the Stars‘ semifinals, it was really anyone’s guess who’d leave after Tuesday night’s elimination show.

So which three couples will move on to next week’s big finale?

Hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke-Charvet, who was nice enough to introduce first-time viewers to her cleavage, kicked off the show by letting the judges choose an encore dance from performance night.

Len announced the honors would go to William and Cheryl’s samba, so the bronzed pair again took to the stage to showcase William’s bouncy backside to a grateful nation.

Then we got a backstage look at what exactly happened to Katherine after she flubbed the end of her second routine on Monday. Apparently a twinge in her back chose to make itself known at an inopportune time, and she was devastated — although it seemed she was more concerned about possibly costing Mark a spot in the finals than she was about herself.

Brooke’s cleavage called Katherine and Mark to the stage to learn their fate, and after they were told they were the first to make it to the finals, they jumped so high it honestly looked like they’d both been launched from ejector seats. Much rejoicing ensued, and we have to say we’re pleased we’ll get to see them next week.

Next up: Derek and Maria, who had a helluva night on Monday. But even though they were at the top of the judges’ leaderboard, they must have fallen short on audience votes because they were the first couple in jeopardy.

Then we got a peek at the upcoming ‘Rock of Ages‘ movie, only live on stage, featuring ‘DWTS’ vet Julianne Hough and the always-amazing Mary J. Blige. It was … well, see for yourself:

Donald and Peta were the next to be told they were in jeopardy, which course meant William and Cheryl moved on to the finals.

And in what many people will probably feel was a really shocking result, Maria and Derek were eliminated, even after getting one perfect score and one near-perfect score on Monday. Yeah, those audience votes do matter. (Is this a good time to say we predicted they’d come in fourth?)

But if Maria was surprised, she sure didn’t let it show. “I learned so many things,” she said about her time on the show. “I learned how strong I was. I learned to persevere.” Classy lady — and as we said, it really could’ve been anyone who went home.

Jorge Narvaez and his daughter Alexa stole the hearts of everyone in the audience and on the judges’ panel on ‘America’s Got Talent.’ Jorge, clutching a guitar, introduced the world to his tiny tyke in footage of her getting a piggyback ride from her pops and telling cameras, “My daddy is my favorite singer in the whole entire universe!”

Alexa immediately charmed Sharon Osbourne, who waved and smiled at her. “I’m scared,” Alexa said with a smile at the beginning of their performance. “It’s a lot of people — 609!” Judge Howard Stern assured her, “You have many friends here,” to which the adorable lil’ angel grinned and said, “Okay, I won’t be scared!”

She and her proud papa took deep breaths and then began to whistle, then broke into song, ‘Home Is Wherever I’m With You.’ The crowd went pretty nuts for the cute duo, and the judges were equally pleased. Osbourne asked Alexa her age and how long she’d been singing (for the record, she’s 7 and has been singing since she was “about one year old,” per her calculations). Fellow judge Howie Mandel revealed he’d actually seen Alexa and Jorge on YouTube (their cover of the song has garnered 20 million hits and counting), while Stern had some too cute banter with the pint sized powerhouse.

After Osbourne explained the concept of voting to the sequin-sporting singer, the judges did just that — unanimously agreeing to send the proud fam to Las Vegas. Even notorious smack talker Stern had kind words for the pair, telling them, “This has been, by far, the most touching moment on the show for me.”

Last week saw two couples eliminated from the ‘Dancing with the Stars‘ competition, leaving us with what may be the best semifinal group yet. And on Monday night, they all danced their perfectly-toned backsides off — so who’s got the best shot at moving on to next week’s finale extravaganza?

Let’s find out … LIIIIIIIVE!

Hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke-Charvet, who was clad in a life-sized Slinky, said everyone would be doing two dances for our entertainment. Oh, and it was also Sob Story Night, so we all learned a little more about the contestants’ hardships early in life. Good times.

And away we go.

William Levy and Cheryl Burke

First dance score: 28 out of 30 (9/9/10)

Second dance score: 30 out of 30 (10/10/10)

William also told us about his impoverished Cuban upbringing, saying when he was a kid, his dream was just to have a fridge with food in it. As he mentioned earlier in the season, his father was a political prisoner who brought the family to the US for asylum when William was 14. His modeling agents recalled seeing him for the first time and how he was gorgeous but had so few clothes that they actually had to go shopping for him. His modeling gigs led to acting gigs, and now he’s one of the biggest stars in Latin America.

On to the dancing … there’s a reason Cheryl’s won this thing twice, and getting fantastic partners is only part of it. She’s a terrific choreographer, and her first dance with William, a tango set to the Eurythmics’ ‘Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This),’ was sexy and sharp and fit the music perfectly. Len said he hadn’t “been this excited since my mother put me in long trousers,” which we’re guessing is Brit-speak for “dude, awesome,” Bruno said it was “full of animal magnetism,” and Carrie Ann had only the tiniest of constructive criticisms.

His second dance, a samba, featured him in tight white pants shaking his ass a lot (see, we told you Cheryl knows what she’s doing). Bruno called the dance “the pleasure zone” and said he had “bum envy,” Carrie Ann called it “freaking amazing,” and Len dubbed William “the hunk with the junk in his trunk.”

Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas

First dance score: 29 out of 30 (10/9/10)

Second dance score: 27 out of 30 (9/9/9)

Katherine was accepted to the Royal Academy of Music at 17, and rocketed to fame after being signed to a recording deal shortly thereafter. (It’s still so weird to see that booming operatic voice coming out of such a tiny chick.) Last December she apparently suffered an Adele-style breakup with her fiance and it left her in shreds. She credits ‘DWTS’ for helping to put a smile back on her face and for giving her something else to focus on.

Kind of surprised she didn’t mention her father’s death as she did earlier in the season when we got some contestant backstory, but maybe she felt it would’ve been exploitative. So props to her for that.

On to the dancing … Katherine said she’s come a long way in the competition — from demurely asking the costume designers to add more fabric to her dresses all the way to her currently provocative dance moves. Her quick-step looked like it had a few small errors to us, but if it did, most of the judges didn’t notice. Bruno called it “outstanding” with “amazing technique,” Carrie Ann said it may have been the best dance ever on ‘DWTS,’ and although Len did catch the mistakes, he deemed the performance “fabulous.”

Kat’s second dance, a salsa, was hawt and showed she’s clearly gotten more comfortable showing some skin. All was going swimmingly until the very last couple beats of the song when her back suddenly went out — she was horrified and in pain all at the same time, and she couldn’t stop apologizing to Mark. So awful. Regardless, Carrie Ann called the rest of the dance “fabulous,” Len called her “Katherine the Great,” and Bruno said she “unleashed the harlot” within.

At the end of the show, she was stoic but looked like she was in agonizing pain, and Tom said doctors were en route. Hopefully it’s nothing too serious and she picks up some audience votes, because it would be an absolute shame for her to go out like that.

Donald Driver and Peta Murgatoyd

First dance score: 28 out of 30 (9/9/10)

Second dance score: 29 out of 30 (10/9/10)

Donald grew up in rough ‘hood in Houston, with a father in prison and a single mother raising five kids. The family wound up living under a bridge, and Donald’s mom eventually sent him and his brother to stay with their grandparents. Trouble — drugs, car thefts, etc — followed, even during his early athletic years. Meeting his wife in college was the turning point because she gave him an ultimatum: he could have her or the bad-boy lifestyle, but not both. He kept her and focused on football instead, eventually being drafted by the Green Bay Packers and going on to become a star wide-receiver with a Super Bowl championship under his belt.

On to the dancing … his first dance, a waltz, was simply gorgeous — fluid and lyrical and lovely. Carrie Ann complimented the emotion he displayed and called the performance “mesmerizing,” Len said Donald is a “big tough cream puff,” and Bruno loved his lines and arm extensions.

The samba he did next was sassy and fun (prediction: Peta has quite a future on this show). Len said it was “a bit careful” but he liked it, Bruno said it “worked beautifully,” and Carrie Ann said it was Donald’s “A+ game.”

Maria Menounos and Derek Hough

First dance score: 30 out of 30 (10/10/10)

Second dance score: 29 out of 30 (10/9/10)

Maria’s parents were Greek immigrants (as she’s often reminded us) who worked as janitors, and she was moved by how much they wanted to give her family a better life. She put herself through college, got a journalism degree, and covered earthquakes and wars for Channel One news — she even interviewed President Bush when she was all of 20. Damned impressive. She credits her parents for her work ethic, and wants to succeed to make them proud.

On to the dancing … while it’s usually the celebs who buckle under the pressure, Derek’s rehearsal footage seemed to show him in the midst of a panic-attack — something that’s especially odd for the show’s only three-time champ. Regardless, he soldiered on, and Maria’s Argentine tango had some amazing moves, ending with a pretty emotional moment between her and Derek. Len said he was “completely caught up in it,” Bruno gave it his usual bombastic praise, and Carrie Ann was in the throes of complimental (it’s a word because I say it is) ecstasy.

Her second dance seemed a bit muted for a jive, and Derek looked like he was doing most of the tricks, but overall it was a fresh interpretation. Bruno liked its “quirkiness,” Carrie Ann said it was a “stunner,” and Len called out a tiny stumble but enjoyed the “rhythm” of the performance.

There you have it. Tuesday night’s elimination will reveal who’s in the finale — see you then.

‘Snow White and the Huntsman‘ has a lot going against it. It’s the second ‘Snow White’ movie to come in just a few months (‘Mirror, Mirror’ hit theaters in late March), it’s attempting to put a modern, action-movie spin on the classic fairy tale, and it stars Kristen Stewart, an actress frequently criticized for her wooden line readings.

Yet despite all this, we can’t help but think ‘Snow White’ looks pretty damn good.

Two new clips from ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ are online today, each showing off a battle sequence in the film.  The first shows Snow and the Huntsman as they’re going for a leisurely walk through the woods when – TROLL! (It’s enough to remind you of Chris Hemsworth’s “HAMMER!” delivery in ‘Thor.’)

The next clip finally sets up the climactic battle between Snow and the Evil Queen. And therein do we finally understand why we’re excited to see this movie: Charlize Theron. The actress, who proudly declared she’s going through her “bitch period,” is a delight to watch as she chews up the scenery and spits it right back in the face of Stewart.

We love her, but Theron plays the bitch well (remember, she won an Oscar for playing a serial killer) and she’s not backing down from the challenge here. (There’s also an interesting metaphor as the aging A-list actress, holding on to her beauty takes on the hot, young “It Girl” looking to take over.)

‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ hits theaters on June 1st and you can watch the two new clips from the film below.

The Beastie Boys were inducted in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 14, the same day that Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch was hospitalized for what would be the last time. Though Yauch couldn’t attend and his bandmates didn’t perform without him, Kid Rock, Travie McCoy and the Roots paid tribute to their musical legacy with a fun medley of the group’s hits.

McCoy, Kid Rock and Black Thought donned the trademark green tracksuits that the Beastie Boys sported on the scene. Backed by Questlove’s beats as well as a full band and DJ, the trio performed a mashup of ‘No Sleep Till Brooklyn,’ ‘So What’cha Want,’ ‘Sabotage’ and ‘The New Style.’

The induction ceremony aired Saturday night (May 5) with a photo and textual dedication to Yauch at program’s end. Other post-recording additions included tributes to fallen legends Dick Clark and Levon Helm.

Yauch, who died on May 4 after a nearly three-year cancer battle, had his bandmates Adam ‘Ad-Rock’ Horovitz and Michael ‘Mike D.’ Diamond, as well as his family, accept the honor in his stead. Yauch instead submitted a heartfelt and moving letter which Ad-Rock read on the air.

I’d like to dedicate this award to my brothers, Adam and Mike, who’ve walked the globe with me.

To anyone who’s been touched by our band, who our music has meant something to, this induction is as much ours as it is yours. To Kate Schellenbach. To John Berry. To John Berry’s loft on 100th St. in Brooklyn where John’s dad would come busting in during our first practices screaming, “Would you turn that f—ing s— off already!”…

The music of Motown swept the ‘Dancing with the Stars‘ ballroom on Monday night. So — and please pardon the awful play on words — who cried the tears of a clown after Tuesday’s elimination?

Hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke-Charvet didn’t waste any time announcing the first safe couples: William and Cheryl and Jaleel and Kym. No surprise on the first one, but since Jaleel was in the dance duel last week and thisclose to being eliminated, that’s one helluva comeback on his part.

The first two couples in jeopardy were Melissa and Maks and, in a surprise, Maria and Derek.

Next two safe couples were pretty obvious: Katherine and Mark, and Donald and Peta.

Gladys and Tristan and Roshon and Cheslie were announced as being in jeopardy — and wound up being the bottom two couples who had to participate in the dance duel.

That wasn’t good news for Gladys. Despite weak judges’ scores, she’s stayed out of trouble because of the audience vote. A worst-case scenario for her was winding up in a one-on-one competition with the judges determining who goes home based solely on that dance.

Honestly, it was rough to watch. Not because she was bad (she wasn’t) but because competing with a kid a third of her age just seemed … undignified somehow. Blech. We’d rather have just seen her voted out by the audience without that.

Then the judges had their say. Carrie Ann voted to keep Gladys, Len voted to keep Roshon, and Bruno cast the deciding vote — for Roshon. Which not only meant Gladys was out, it completely screwed up our prediction about Roshon coming in 8th place (although we did say Gladys would be in trouble in a dance duel).

No one looked happy about the outcome, but of course Gladys saw it coming and handled it like the classy lady she is.

A cat who goes by the descriptive name of “Meow” needs a new home. And it better be a big one because the two-year-old feline weighs 39-lbs. That’s three times what an adult cat should weigh or the equivalent to a 600-lb human.

‘Meow’ was recently brought to a Sante Fe, NM, animal shelter because his 87-year-old owner could no longer care for the colossal feline. Learn more about Meow below.

In case you’re wondering, the Guinness Record for fattest housecat is 47 pounds. So if you’re thinking of adopting Meow just for the glory of Guinness, you’d have to fatten him up some more. And that would be cruel considering he is already in poor health because of his weight.

Meow is actually on the path to a slimmer self, having dropped two pounds since being brought to the shelter. But any prospective owner should probably still be ready to put the king-sized cat on a serious diet.

This is a glorious moment. It’s the moment when Zac Efron has finally broken free from his days as the teenie-bopping jock boy of ‘High School Musical’ and become a man in the eyes of his fans. We have Nicholas Spark’s ‘The Lucky One’ to thank for that.

Efron plays a “strong and silent type” guy named Logan, a returning soldier in search of the woman in a photo he found on the battlefield. This movie caught most of our attentions back when the trailer was circulating through the web and placing a spotlight on the star’s unique pair of black undies.

Now that the movie has finally premiered this weekend, those of us who’ve seen it are already aching to go again. Needless to say, it’s filled with a lot of make-out sessions and shirtless shots. As far as we’re concerned, that’s all you really need.

Hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke-Charvet, whose silver dress made her look like a baked potato ready for the oven, first announced that Maria and Derek had been chosen by the judges for the honorary encore dance.

On performance night, judge Carrie Ann chided them for a kiss they staged in their salsa, calling it a “sell-out” move. So during their encore, Derek replaced the smooch by running over and surprising Carrie Ann with a liplock instead. (Funny thing — she didn’t seem to mind that one at all.)

Then it was time to announce the first three safe couples: Maria and Derek, Melissa and Maks, and Gladys and Tristan.

Melissa was so relieved that she let forth a string of expletives that had to be bleeped (Pa Ingalls would’ve washed her mouth out with soap for that):

Even though Gladys hasn’t been getting great judges’ scores, we’re glad she got enough audience votes to survive for next week’s Motown theme. It seems only right.

Then the new elimination method was explained. Citing previous contestants who went home midway through the competition even though they were very good, the judges will have the bottom two couples dance side-by-side to determine who should actually leave, with the judges making the final decision themselves. We like it — this way no one stays in on pity votes alone.

Next three safe couples:
William and Cheryl, Katherine and Mark, and Donald and Peta. Duh.

That left only one more safe couple: Roshon and Chelsie.

So the bottom two were Jaleel and Kym and Gavin and Karina. Tough break for Jaleel, but as cute and pleasant as Gavin is, he’s been a consistent bottom-two dweller and could probably sense his good luck was running out.

Then it was Dance Dual time — one cha-cha, danced simultaneously by both couples. Since the choreography for each one was so different, it was kinda hard to contrast and compare, but it was pretty clear that Jaleel and Kym looked better.

And the judges agreed — in a unanimous decision, they sent Gavin and Karina home.

Gavin expected it and took the news with his characteristic good humor and grace, but we’re kinda bummed because now we’ll never know what’s under that hat.

Miley Cyrus was rushed to the emergency room today (April 17).

But fret not, Miley fans. She was photographed and videotaped  behaving very calmly, with a white bandage wrapped around her left index finger, which was seeping blood. It appears that she may have sustained a serious cut on her digit.

Cyrus was ferried off to the ER with her mother Tish, her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth and her grandmother in tow. Of course the paps were there to document her every move in a moment of mini crisis. We’re not even going to go there, since it’s a whole other argument about celebs and their privacy.

The video of Cyrus shows the teen exiting an SUV, wrapping a cozy, long grey cardigan around her black and white skull-stamped romper as she made her way towards the ER entrance.

Judging from her calmness and her bandage, she likely cut herself, but there was no confirmation of what happened and how at press time. We hope Miley and her finger are okay.

Even in the midst of an emergency, Miley still looked incredibly stylish with her summery outfit.

Monday was Latin Night on ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ and hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke-Charvet promised we’d go “south of the border” to “shake our maracas,” which we’re pretty sure wasn’t nearly as dirty as it sounded.

Last week, Melissa Gilbert got her bell rung so badly that she was carried out on a stretcher with whiplash and a concussion, and William Levy tore up his ankle during rehearsals — so next time someone says dancing is for sissies, you go ahead and kick them in the brothers.

In the meantime, let’s see what the performers have in store.

Jaleel White and Kym Johnson
Score: 24 out of 30 (8/8/8)
Jaleel was pretty shaken by last week’s elimination of crowd favorite Sherri Shepherd because it made him realize that no one is safe. His samba certainly showed a much sexier side of him — Kym had him perform shirtless with an open vest, and hey look, his hips can swivel too! Len called it “fantastic,” Bruno said it “got the party started,” and Carrie Ann said it had “attack and fire.”

Melissa Gilbert and Maksim Chmerkovskiy
Score: 21 out of 30 (7/7/7)
Melissa’s been cleared to dance as long as she doesn’t get a headache (which may mean she’ll need a different partner). Maks tried to get her to loosen up and release her inner sex-kitten for their salsa, but she had some trouble doing it. Their performance was loaded with head snaps and neck holds that probably made her doctors cringe, but sister deserves props for bravery. Carrie Ann noted how much confidence she’s gained since the start of the competition, but all the judges thought it was a bit sloppy.

Maria Menounos and Derek Hough
Score: 27 out of 30 (9/9/9)
Maria has cracked bones in her ribs and her feet since coming on ‘DWTS,’ and during rehearsals for her salsa, she did a face-first splat onto the floor that made even us gasp (she showed up to her next rehearsal covered in bubble-wrap, proving she hasn’t lost her sense of humor). Her performance was good, but the sexiness that’s seemed natural to her before seemed somehow forced this time, especially a smooch she laid on Derek mid-dance. Carrie Ann thought the kiss was a “sell-out” but all the judges thought the rest of the routine was smokin’ hot, so eh, what do we know.

Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas
Score: 29 out of 30 (10/9/10)
During rehearsals for their Argentine tango, Katherine kicked a bit too high between Mark’s legs more than once, causing damage to his, as she puts it, “naughty bits.” (In case we haven’t mentioned it, she’s still freakin’ adorable.) To our eye, their dance looked damned near flawless, and the judges seemed to agree. Bruno said the acting and storytelling was “played to perfection,” and Carrie Ann called it “poetry in motion.”

Gavin DeGraw and Karina Smirnoff
Score: 19 out of 30 (6/6/7)
Gavin showed us last week he could actually be sexy, but he was still nervous about the hip-swivels required by the samba. We’re not sure what happened to Last Week Gavin, but … eek. He looked like he had fun but this was not good. Carrie Ann gave the world’s most understated critique by saying it “lacked a bit of form,” while Len called it a “sham-ba, not a samba” but a “gallant effort.”

William Levy and Cheryl Burke
Score: 29 out of 30 (10/9/10)
Since William is Cuban, he said how embarrassed he’d be if he’s voted out on Latin Night, so he was determined to shake off his mediocre performance from last week and get back to the top of the leaderboard. He needn’t have worried — his Argentine tango was gorgeous and, as in previous weeks, the ladies in the ballroom screamed their approval. Carrie Ann called William the “Latin dancing James Bond,” Len said the dance was “sensuality in color,” and Bruno said it had a “throbbing intensity.”

Gladys Knight and Tristan MacManus
Score: 22 out of 30 (7/7/8)
Living legend Gladys didn’t have a great dance last week, but she only called it a “challenge” to overcome. Tristan said her samba would be a chance to shake everything she’s been holding in for all these weeks — and shake it she did. She’s not the best dancer in the competition and she knows it, but she’s so much fun to watch. Len said she has “great musicality,” Bruno said she’s “magic,” and Carrie Ann said that while it had its mistakes, Gladys’ remarkable stage presence is undeniable.

Roshon Fegan and Chelsie Hightower
Score: 26 out of 30 (9/8/9)
Despite his high scores last week, Roshon didn’t get a lot of audience votes and was in the bottom two. Nervous about being sexy for his salsa, he got some advice from William. It definitely seemed to work, but about half-way through, Chelsie’s dress slipped off her shoulder and she almost gave the audience a lot more sexy than she meant to. Bruno said Roshon’s timing was great and Len loved his enthusiasm, but said he might wanna take it down just a bit.

Donald Driver and Peta Murgatoyd
Score: 27 out of 30 (10/8/9)
After an amazing performance last week, Donald was ready for a repeat of those great scores. And like the two other couples who did Argentine tangos, he absolutely nailed it. Carrie Ann called his control “divine,” Len called the lifts “spectacular” but oddly wasn’t as impressed with the rest, Bruno said there were a couple of “flow” issues but he liked it otherwise.

A new elimination method goes into effect Tuesday night that gives the judges the final say in who goes home. See you then.
