On Thursday, February 26, 44-year-old Mary Ann Baker of Wake Village, Texas came to the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office to retrieve money from her inmate trust fund account that she had left from a previous visit at the Bowie County Jail. While pulling up Baker’s account, Bowie County employee Tracy Jones noticed that Baker had an outstanding child support warrant for her arrest.Jones notified Lieutenant David Childers of the situation and he took Baker into custody for the warrant. Baker and her purse were later searched as part of her booking process.

About two grams of methamphetamine, 20 prescription pills and three bags of marijuana were allegedly found in Baker’s purse.

She was subsequently charged with Possession of Controlled Substance Over One Gram and Under Four Grams, Possession of a Controlled Substance Under 28 Grams and Possession of Marijuana Under Two Ounces. Judge Nancy Talley set Baker’s bonds at $10,000 for Possession of Controlled Substance Over One Gram and Under Four Grams, $3,000 for Possession of a Controlled Substance Under 28 Grams and $3,000 for Possession of Marijuana Under Two Ounces.
